This Information is for the Venice Canal’s tidal gates at Washington Blvd. operated by Mariposa Horticultural. Mariposa also does the maintenance in the Canals. It is a twice weekly “flushing” schedule, when possible. The “flushing” maintains water quality and water level, and for canal maintenance when the water is low.
The schedule depends upon the tides, which are variable. The schedule is coordination with the County of Los Angeles’ tide gate at the Marina del Rey jetty. Their tidal gate controls the ocean water coming into the Venice Canals.
